Audio overload

When recording audio using a wireless mic, there are 4 different places to overload the equipment. In the digital realm overload is an unforgivable sin, it renders the audio unusable and cannot be fixed. The cameras on board meter only warns you of overload at the last step in the chain. Turning down the gain in the camera will do nothing to mitigate distortion that has been introduced at an earlier point in the chain. The solution is simple use headphones.
